Connecting with my roots, my art and my friend.

THE HIGH KEY COLORED HORSE & COW PAINTINGS ARE MY ODE TO THEODORE WADDELL & KEVIN ROSE

Kevin worked for Theodore when he was a teen. He was enamored with

his work. The time spent at the Montana Waddell Ranch would spark a life long

interest in art and design for the Billings teen.

Years later, when Kevin began working for me, he used to try to get me to paint

horse & cow paintings, where the animals were standing in fields. Kevin would sillily

encourage me by saying things like: You are from Shepherd, MT. You can draw

livestock from memory. Nobody draws a horse butt like you do.

After Kevin passed (unexpectedly at 49), I found myself working through my gut

punched grief by painting what I call "Montana Organic Landscapes".

Like Waddell, I too am a texture junky. I also believe that scale is what evokes mood

The rich oil paint is fun to carve shapes of gestural horses & cows into. The brush is

what gives that subtle lisp of grass.

Making these paintings is a fun way for me to connect with where I am from, the art

that I love, and my friend.
