When Ann Jackson of Jackson & Company asked me to create original oil paintings for her project, "the entrance level of The Grove Hotel in Boise, Idaho", I jumped at the opportunity. I began painting small sketches of the designs Ann would share with me. Over several months,I was privileged to work with Ann as she pulled together the lobby design. She would share swatches of the carpet, upholstery, and her preliminary drawings. Slowly but surely, the “face of The Grove Hotel” in downtown Boise, Idaho became a reality.

“Boise River Welcomes You”
Enter the lobby to be greeted by “Boise River Welcomes You”. This painting is a warm invite to a weary traveler. At 12 foot wide x 4 foot tall, she is large and in charge.
“Poppy”
is the name of Ann Jackson’s beloved dog. I created this painting for the lobby of The Grove. “Poppy is a bear painting that is more of a female portrait than anything else. She is quite, thoughtful, and contemplative. She is enjoying the moment in the moment”.

“Hope”
is about my life in the north. Parts of our winter drag on and on. Just as soon as I think that I cannot take another day of snow, I will notice something in nature that will give me hope. This day, it was a flock of Canadian Geese that broke up the quiet compression of winter. I am thankful for this hope.
